CNY '2011

CNY has come to the corner, everybody has busy buying their CNY stuffs. It goes to my family as well. All the chinese will definately love this festive season as they look forward to the reunion dinner with their love ones and kids will love to collect ang pau from the adults. This round we have taken extra leaves before CNY so that we could have more time to spend with our parents in this festive season.

Normally, my sis will be coming back on chor2 after spending the CNY with her in-laws, however, this year, she has chosen to come back earlier which is right before the CNY in order to avoid the heavy traffics when she goes back to KL and mum also agreed about that.

Pre re-union dinner:

Since this year all of us are here, we have decided to have our pre-reunion dinner ourselves. The purpose of re-union dinner is where all the family gather together and have their dinner, hence, whether this is pre re-union dinner or exact re-union dinner is doesn't matter to us anymore. This year we have "Steamboat" and "Lou Sang" as our reunion dinner.

Nian 30: Reunion Dinner:

Sis and her family has finally gone back to KL for this CNY with her in-laws, feel boring without their accompanion. Luckily with little Ian around whose make fun of each of us to overwhelm the environment. In addition, Uncle Pat and Aunty Mimi have come back for the re-union dinner with us, at least, we won't feel so lonely with just few of us...

Our reunion dinner

After our reunion dinner, as usual we will sit around together and watch tv while waiting for the time past 12 to "welcome the new year". After 12, we are not allowed to take something which is not vegetarian. After praying outside the house, we have to pray in the house as well.

First time Ian praying the ancestors!

It was a tradition that the younger generation has to give a glass of tea to the elder generation and great them Chinese New Year. I did that for almost every year but this year I have skipped that =p

As usual, mum will cook for the vegetarian noodles and bought some of the dishes from outside as our breakfast. Since this is the vegetarian day, we will use the new plates, bowls and chopsticks for this special day. After the end of the day, these will be kept aside and use it for the subsequent years. The purpose of this is to differentiate the non vegetarian and vegetarian food.

This night, I went out for a gathering with my secondary school mates. It was the first time meeting them since our graduation. Fingers count, it was 9 years ago since our graduation we have not met each others. This year, Yen Sim and Kor Sin have sent out an invitation in facebook by inviting all of us to join this gathering. Unfortunately, some of them are unable to attend hence not full attendance for this round. However, we should be happy at least we have gather 11 of us..Next year will be our 10 years anniversary and we have promised to have a gathering next year for all of us at this special year... =)

On this day, for those girls who have already married, will come back to their own home. In our family, are mainly girls hence, this day, all my cousin sisters and brothers will be coming back to my house. =)

With Yong Xin and Yong Xuan, the daughters for my cousin brother, Siew Joon

With Ryan.. Very difficult to carry him with his dad around...sigh.....He is the son of my cousin sis, Maggie..

Normally on chor2, mum will cook different types of meats as lunch and dinners and on chor3, she will cook "lui cha" for us. Let me explain. "Lui cha" is one of our tradition. This is the tradition food from "Hor Poh" village from China. They will cook different types of vege and mix them together with the rice together with the mint soup. Not many people can accept the taste of the mint soup so do me =p
Have a glance of the dishes of "Lui Cha". Proud of my mum
Finally the CNY has ended and everybody has to go back to where they belongs to so do me. Trust we have to wait until the next CNY for thir reunion again... Happy days are always ended fast, for this brand new year, everybody ganbateh!
